What is TEC?
Cumberland County Technical Education Center is the newest high school in Cumberland County. We specialize in technical education to offer students a chance to explore various careers and assist them in developing the skills they need to be successful. We are a full-time high school in a state of the art facility designed to maximize learning and hands on skills.
Who can apply?
All 8th grade students who reside in Cumberland County.
How do I apply?
CCTEC’s application process begins in the fall of your 8th grade year. Log on toand click admissions. You will need to register for an Information Session and attend with a parent in order to receive an application.
What is an Information Session?
An Information Session is a large group meeting to explain all that CCTEC offers. This meeting goes over the programs offered, curriculum, student life, and the admissions process.
Information Sessions are held from September to December. Registration for an Information Session is recommended. Visitto register.
What happens after I attend an Information Session?
After you attend an Information Session, an email from Kelly Redman () will be sent with the link to the application. Click the link and complete the application. Once the application is complete, send Mrs. Redman your final 7th grade report card. Once your 8th grade, 1st marking period/trimester report cards are issued, send that to Mrs. Redman.
You can send the transcripts through email or regular mail. If you are taking a picture and emailing it, please make sure your name and grades are clear.
When you complete the application and submit both 7th and 8th grade report cards by the December 13, 2019 deadline your application process is almost complete. The next step is the Admissions Exam.
What is the Admissions Exam?
The Admissions Exam consists of two one hour tests in Language Arts and Math. The test is held on Saturday, January 25, 2020. You will receive an email from Mrs. Redman with your exact time and detailed information.
How will I find out if I am accepted?
Acceptance Letters and Waitlist Letters will be mailed in March.
- Acceptance Letters will let you know what program you have been accepted into. A few days after the letters are mailed, you will receive an email from Mrs. Redman. This email is very important. You MUST accept/decline your acceptance. Once you accept the program offered, you are officially a TEC student!!
- Waitlist Letters are sent to students who have not been accepted. If a seat opens up and you are the next student listed for that program, you will receive a phone call to offer you that seat. The waitlist remains open until August 1, 2020.
I was accepted into TEC. What now?
You will receive an email from Mrs. Redman inviting you to our “Meet and Greet” in May. This meeting gives you the opportunity to meet your classmates, your teachers and learn more about life at TEC. Your parent/guardian will also attend to learn more about TEC and fill our mandatory paperwork.
