On Saturday, April 13th, students from the Cumberland County Technical Education Center were invited to attend the 2019 NJ State SkillsUSA awards ceremony in in Bridgewater, NJ. 

SkillsUSA is a partnership of students, teachers, and industry professionals working together to ensure America has a skilled workforce.  Students are provided the opportunity to showcase their career and technical skills during SkillsUSA competitions. 

The 2019 competition series began on March 1st  At the conclusion of each event, individual scores and performance rankings are kept a secret.  Instead, students that placed first, second, or third in their competition were invited to the state-wide awards ceremony held at Bridgewater Raritan High School in Bridgewater, NJ. 

CCTEC took home 58 medals on April 13th, including the following gold medals:

  • Jack Kruger – Mobile Robotics Technology
  • Michael Mancus – Mobile Robotics Technology
  • Anthony Flores – Broadcast News Production
  • Alyson Lorence – Broadcast News Production
  • Chisano Mutts – Broadcast News Production
  • Chloe Swift – Broadcast News Production
