Letter from Greg McGraw, Principal of CCTEC
Hello, parents and guardians of CCTEC.
Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, March 17th, CCTEC will shift to remote learning through Google Classroom.
In order for our students to remain successful in their classroom studies, it is critical that they commit the
equivalent of a full school day (four hours) or more each day to complete their assignments. Please see the
below procedures that will be utilized over the next five weeks.
• Teachers will upload assignments, projects, assessments, readings, etc., to Google Classroom. All
classroom assignments will be posted the night before.
• Students are responsible for committing the equivalent of a full school day (four hours) or more to
complete their learning assignments, Monday- Friday. We ask that all parents help their child find
a quiet place to complete their school work.
• Students are responsible for submitting their assignments by the due date communicated by the
teacher. Assignments will be graded and posted to our Genesis gradebook. Feedback will be
communicated through Google Classroom.
• Teachers and counselors will be available to answer questions electronically through Google
Classroom, Google Chat, or through email from 7:30 until 2:00. Students and/or parents should
reach out to staff members with any questions regarding assignments, assessments, applications,
• Students can make an appointment with their guidance counselor to discuss scheduling,
social/emotional concerns, academic concerns, scholarship questions, etc. through Google
Hangout. Each counselor will be sending an email to their students with instructions on how to
schedule a meeting through Google Hangout.
• Students will have off on March 27th and April 10th – 17th for Spring Recess. No assignments will
be posted on these scheduled days off.
• Any parent meetings that were previously scheduled have been cancelled. More information
pertaining to those meetings will be forthcoming.
• Our school based program, Acenda, will be contacting the parents of any student who is provided
counseling services through their office. Acenda will share options for continuing services over
Meal service for students who receive free or reduced price meals will continue. A combination bagged
breakfast and lunch will be available for daily pick-up (Monday through Friday) from 8:00 am to 11:00 am
